Family Fun Times

(The family... with Mum)

Well once again time has gone by ever so quickly!!! I have been back in Oz now for 6 months! Wow! I have been keeping busy with UNI & working.

Uni is going well and i am enjoying being there. Semester 2 is well and truly in full swing now. Time to knuckle down and get those assignments started! I have met some cool people there too. My drama teacher is the same teacher i had at Latrobe University 10 years ago! Crazy!

My sister Debbie came to Melbourne about a month ago now for a holiday with her son Xaviar. I was so happy to meet the little man and we had fun celebrating his first birthday. Debbie decided to have a Nursery Rhyme themed party for him. It was lots of fun and just wonderful to have all the family together again as it has been quite some time since all of us have been in the same room together. Also while Debbie was down she was desperate to go out for a dance so of coarse i took her out. The first place we went to she wasn't keen on.. a bit too trippy hippy so we went for a walk and discovered another bar with an empty dance floor that needed to be filled by us!! hehe lots of fun to have a dance with my sister.

Anyway the pics i have added will show it all.....

Time has flown!!!

Wow - I can not believe it has been 2 months since i updated on here. Life certainly has been busy! Well i have finished my first semester at university. All went well, although i am waiting for my results still so fingers crossed i pass everything. I am enjoying being a student and have made a few friends although all quite a bit younger than me - but thats cool. My favourite subject would definitely be drama, followed by sociology.

I started a new job a couple of weeks ago working for the Department of Human Services in the Child protection area. Since getting the job i have been extremely busy and haven't had much time for myself but i need the money so i am not complaining!

My sister Tina had her baby. She had a girl - Jorja Lee and she is just such a sweet heart. She is 9 weeks old already!
(Me with Jorja a few days after she was born)

Bren my nephew is such a teenager now (although he is 12!)

I am looking forward to my sister Debbie arriving in Melbourne next week with her son who will be turning 1. I haven't met him yet so i am very excited. Glenda's (my sister) tummy is really popping out now as she is getting closer to having her third bubba. Bella and Alex are growing by the day and are such little characters. I love spending time with them.

Living with my Mum has been great. Our home is lovely and we are really starting to feel settled - even though it is so far away from my mates it is nice to come home to such a nice place each day. I havent seen my Dad in a while but when we catch up it's cool! So basically i guess what i am saying is that i am loving being home and being around my family and my Molly dog!

(Mum with Molly dog)

Hmm what else have i been doing??? I have been going out every now and then mainly to reggae nights or just hanging out at mates houses. I have been drinking way to much so i have decided to have a break!! hehe! It has been 2 weeks so far of alcohol free!!

(A fun night out at a reggae night with my mates)

Winter has kicked in here and the days are getting rather cold now! Although nothing like a winters day in London! It has been a little over 4 months now since i left London and i am really enjoying my journey of being home but it is also very hard too and i have days where i miss my London life a lot. It is such an inner feeling that it is hard to describe. I just wish that London and Oz were closer!!!

Well thats all for now but i am sure there will be more news soon....

Day at the beach

(All smiles in the sun)

Easter weekend and the sun was still well and truely shining! The days have been beautiful so Mel and I decided on a day trip to the beach. We woke at sunrise to drive down and spent the morning on a luscious beach at Point Addis. This would have to be one of my favourite places!! It is such a tranquil place with not many people around in comparison to the neighbouring beaches of Torquey and Anglesea.

(Typical Australian Beach scene!)

As we had the beach mainly to ourselves Mel and I thought it would be fun to take some fun photos - ok maybe it was all my idea but we had fun taking the pics anyway! hehe.

We had a lovely day which also involved catching up with our mates Bren and Geoff who had camped out the night before - however Geoff wasn't happy as he got a fine for sleeping in the car! We also caught up with Dad and had a drink with him at his holiday caravan. A good day was had but we were exhausted and had a very early night!

I have Wheels!!!!!!!!

After just mastering and getting used to the Melbourne public transport system I got myself a car!! Woohoo!! It is pretty necessary for me to have a car now especially for when i move in with my Mum as it is a little while away from uni and my mates.

I did a bit of car shopping around and ended up with a Mazda 323 1992 - I had a few dramas with it at the start however once the car yard fixed it up I picked up on the weekend and it is driving beautifully!

It is such a nice car... quite a bit different to my old Kombi camper days! haha! Rear spoiler, tinted windows, central locking, alloy wheels, wicked sound system etc etc. It is so nice to be on the road again and have the independance that driving gives you.

Here is a few pics of my red machine...
she is so pretty! I have to find a name for her now - Any ideas???

As i am staying with my sister, and while i am on the topic of 'wheels' my bro-in-law insisted in taking me for a ride on his bike. I was a little nervous at first as last time i was on the back of a bike like that i nearly fell off!

It was awesome. The wind blowing around me just made me really relaxed. My dreads were flying out from the back of the helmet too which was cool. I look forward to another ride. Rick was a careful rider which made me felt safe and comfortable. It was just soooo cool!!

Here are some pics of Rick's bike......

My Sister Tina's Baby-Shower

Last weekend we decided to throw my sister Tina a surprise babyshower. Tina is about 2 weeks off having the baby and was insisting that she didn't want a babyshower but we gave her one anyway!!!! hehe! Bruce (Tina's partner) was in on it and ensured that Tina was home for us to surprise her.

(My sister Glenda, Mummy, Me & My sister Tina)

It was a lovely afternoon playing games like 'pin the dummy on the baby' - Glenda won, 'Guess the measurement around the belly' - it was a tie between Mum and Max (Bruce's son) and 'Draw the baby' which Bruce won. We had lots of laughs playing these games as you can see by all the pics below :)

(Bren - my nephew drawing the baby without looking)

(Brendan now having a laugh at his baby drawing)

(Bruce's drawing won)

It wouldn't be a babyshower without mum doing her needle & cotton determining the sex test! An old wives tale but mum swears by it. She not only did the test on Tina but on all of us! The needle didn't move over my tummy!! Wouldn't that be funny!!! For Tina the needle did big huge circles which means it's a girl. So we will see in the next few weeks how accurate the test is! A 50-50 chance anyway!! hehe!

(Mum with the needle & Thread test - Full circles so apparantly a girl!)

(Mum making sure that i am not expecting!! haha)

Tina got some beautiful gifts including a basket full of baby goodies, funky baby singlets & a gorgeous 'nappy cake' made by Glenda just to name a few.

(The nappy cake! You can't eat it - it's made out of nappies!)

(Going through her basket of goodies)

(Awwww how cute!)

(Bruce looking on - He eventually joined in!!)

All the best to Tina and her upcoming arrival of her new bubs! Not long to go now!!! My prediction is
it's a girl!

("We are family... I've got all my sisters with me" (& my mum) ... well Except for Debbie but she is with us in spirit as i was with everyone in spirit when i was in London!)
